Wild Olive

Wild Olive on Johns Island is one of my favorite restaurants in the Charleston area as they blend the magical elements of Italian food and fresh Lowcountry ingredients perfectly to make a really great meal. Everything on the menu is very delicious and flavorful and something special and unique that is memorable and fulfilling. Wild Olive creates a relaxed ambience and atmosphere that really lets you enjoy the meal with the people, the lighting, and the decor. Once you step in here your stress level will drop and you know you will have a great meal and a good dining experience. The staff here is very attentive and goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need before you need it. I am always impressed with the level of service that they are able to provide.

First time there! Excellent excellent service food, absolutely amazing!! Really neat food options with so much to try. Ray, our server was great and patient explaining all the Italian in the menu to me :). Will be back

Friendly, accommodating staff. Amazing food. Love that they use local produce and protein and the pasta is made in house. Do yourself a favor, be adventurous and try the Sfomato. Best Italian food in the Charleston area!

The food is always superb (dont miss the risotto balls!), the service on par, and the ambience warm and cozy. Save room for dessert, the menu is like a secret garden!

Always amazing! Elk carpaccio appetizer, wow! Tagliatelle bolognese, wow! Lasangna, wow! Gelato Affogato, wow!

As always the staff was friendly and very attentive during our visit. The temperature of the restaurant was a bit warm for our liking but that is to be expected in a successful restaurant during Saturday dinner rush. We enjoyed the appetizers such as the warm olives, the sausage fritters and the Octopus. We had our entrees that were absolutely stunning. The desserts that I had was amazing as always. The Chocolate cake dessert was good but was a bit dry for our liking. Overall 5 stars solid is what we rate!

great service by Hadley & food was very creative and prepared well. liked having choice of two sizes for some entrees.

Great atmosphere, server was extremely knowledgeable and the food was incredible. Had the papperdelle with guanciale. Definitely in the top five best testing dishes I have ever eaten.

The gnocchi are the very best along with all the amazing homemade pasta dishes. Service was fabulous as always. Love it there!

By far the best Italian restaurant in the Charleston area. Listen to your server....they all have a ton of knowledge about the food and they won't lead you astray. Personally this is my favorite restaurant in Charleston and I have lived here my entire life and been to just about every single place in town. Be sure to get the bruschetta. It's constantly changing and I've always been extremely satisfied with it. All of the pasta dishes are too die for and the octopus is another one of my favorites.

Great Italian restaurant on Johns Island! Recommend reservations, especially on the weekend. They do have a community table. Great ambiance, drinks and food. Recommend the lamb lasagna and the fried calamari is the best!! Great waiters/waitresses, too.

Really amazing food. The pasta was wonderful as was the wine selection and dessert. Only thing that was slightly annoying was how loud the restaurant was. It was very difficult to hear the server when she, or they, were talking and it was especially hard to have a conversation around the table with a group of seven. Other than that really enjoyed the food and such.

Amazing. Kim was awesome and took care of all 12 of us. She was patient, kind and fun. It was an awesome night!

Fresh, homemade pasta that always is amazing! Hidden on Johns Island but definitely worth the drive.

Always a great experience! It can be loud when crowded and reservations are HIGHLY recommended! My fave app is the warm olives but all the food is excellent and it is a great place to take out of town visitors!

Beautiful Restaurant! Beautiful food and service was exceptional! My adult children treated me here for Mother's Day weekend. We were able to get a reservation for the Friday night of that weekend. Reservations are a must.

Had the most wonderful evening after checking into the near by RV park. Our waiter made us feel very welcome and was in no hurry to get rid of us. The food was excellent and the ambience was great. Very busy book or get there early.

Wild olive is the best Italian in Charleston! Went for my father’s birthday a few months ago and everything from the service to the food was incredible. Portions are generous and the wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

We had an AMAZING date night here. The service was impeccable, and we shared several half orders of pasta and it was perfect. Nice non-touristy stop in the Charleston area, don’t miss it!

We did not have reservations and we knew that it would be a wait, but it was worth it! The service, the presentation, and the food was all exemplary!

Visiting from out of town. Every bite of every dish I tried around the table was exquisite. The flavors astounding. The staff were super friendly, attentive and accommodating. Prices were more than fair for the portions.

Holy freaking moly. This place is awesome. Every appetizer we’ve gotten has been great. The gnocchi is always good and not to be that person, their Chicken Parm is my favorite. Everything we’ve tried has been so good. The meatballs taste homemade too. Just great food and service. This is a request for both my birthday and my wife’s.

This place is small but mighty! Deer carpaccio was $o amazing I wanted to lick the plate!! Go. There. Now. Reservations recommended. A bit pricey, but you're on vacation, go for it!

So so good, one of our favorite spots in Charleston. Grab a bottle of wine while you wait for your table! Half portions are great size for not leaving overstuffed.

Exceptional food quality and impeccable service. The bolognese sauce is to die for and reminds me of actual Italian sauce as another reviewer pointed out. The fried potato side dish was delectable and the desserts were very tasty. The banana cheesecake was our favorite and they have real tiramisu, not something out of a box.

I am gluten free and they have great pasta options. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the whole experience. We will be back.

Simply amazing! Hands down the best, authentic Italian you’ll find here. Their lasagna is to die for, and the bolognese never disappoints. Always has amazing specials and desserts! They have a great cocktail selection as well. Nothing but great things!!!!

First timer here with 5 others. Everyone order different appetizers and pasta dishes. The service was awesome, really on the ball with filling our drinks, breadbaskets, and informing us of all the specials. Very friendly and helpful staff with good knowledge of their menu items. All our orders were correct, hot, and delicious. All done to perfection. The outside of this restaurant was inviting and the indoor atmosphere was charming and related. Our group really enjoyed everything about this place. Now we know why it's always busy and hard to get a reservation. 🙄

I cannot get enough of these restaurants that are set in a home. This place is slightly hidden off Maybank in John's island. There was an ample amount of parking in the back for this restaurant and the brewery next door. The wait staff were extraordinarily polite. We were seated quickly and made to feel comfortable. The special that night was the fish dish in the review and it was great. The baked ziti was outstanding. I will be making a trip back to John's island soon the have Wild Olive again thats a no brainier.

Wow! Warm olives! Good service, delicious food... Amazing desserts! Very busy on a Sunday night... Glad we had reservations. Ample paved parking a bonus.

The amazing experience this restaurant offers begins in the tastefully landscaped grounds and parking lot. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and quickly seated. The decor was pleasing and there was an energetic, positive vibe. Our waiter was superb, as was the food. In particular,the agnolotti was the best pasta dish I've ever had. We are eager to return.

Great experience and our waitress was well beyond knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. Loved the atmosphere. We got the Italian Mojito which was awesome. The food was just okay in my opinion. It was satisfying enough, but not enough for me to want to come back and eat again. The restaurant staff and service is what made me rate it 4 stars instead of 3.

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is excellent as well! It reminds me of the food I've had in Italy many times before (I lived there for 5 years). If you want the best and most authentic italian food in Charleston, come to Wild Olive.

Incredible food, great atmosphere, and the service is always perfect. Mike was our server this past week when we went, and it was the best experience we've had here so far. My husband and I always look forward to our annual trip to see holiday lights and grab dinner at The Wild Olive!

This is one of the best restaurants I've tried in Charleston, and the servers are amazing and quick. I highly recommend coming here, you won't regret it! (Make sure you get the side of potatoes... Sounds lame, I know, but they are to die for.)

We’ve been here several times, the atmosphere feels like you’re at an old Italian family’s home. Very rustic, the service is great, the wine selection is awesome, homemade pasta is out of this world. Great date night spot!!

Delicious authentic Italian dishes. Great for groups. Fast table service. Chicken Parmesan entree & Biscotti Cake for dessert were amazing. Reservations quick and easy online. Also easy to adjust time if needed.

The Wild Olive is hands down the best restaurant I have eaten at while visiting Sea Brook. We started with the Calamari and it was fantastic. I ordered the Ribeye and Truffled potatoes and all I can say is it's simply incredible. The environment is very pleasing and the staff was very friendly. The Fat Hen was my favorite place until eating here. Sorry Fat Hen your now #2.
